Herstellung Euro Sammelmünzen
As the currency of the European community, the Euro has a very special attraction. Unlike the notes, Euro coins have a picture on the reverse that is representative of their country. Naturally, they are legal tender in every country in the Euro-zone.

The Hamburg Mint produced over one fifth of the first German Euro coins. Before the Euro was introduced in January 2002, this amounted to around 3.57 billion coins. To allow this large quantity of coins to be produced, the first trial minting of the Euro took place in Hamburg on 10th August 1998. New coins are continuously being minted for circulation. You can identify the Euro coins from Hamburg by the letter ‘J’ on the motif side of the coins.
